Here is what we have done to make business better for two recent clients. For details on how we have solved our other clients networking problems, contact us at 780-451-8445 or email info@apronetworks.com.
Entertainment Venue
Problem:
This organization was struggling with growing network support costs. They were unable to solve their own computer issues and were spending time making many help desk calls. Staff were frustrated with the lack of integration between their applications and needed to spend too much time entering duplicate data.
Solutions:
APRO Networks assisted this organization by first developing an overall IT plan and business continuity plan. We performed a detailed network analysis to identify specific performance issues related to their Pass application. From a technical perspective, we performed four server upgrades from NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 including the implementation of Active Directory. We upgraded a number of software packages including Exchange 5.5 to 2000. Individual staff workstations were also updated from Windows 95 or 98 to Windows 2000 Professional. In order to make the network easier to support, maintain and upgrade in the future, we ensured the workstations were standardized and we developed detailed network documentation. Our team acted as mentors for on site IT personnel to transfer knowledge about the system to staff. As a result of our successful planning and execution, this organization is now self-sufficient and can rely on internal resources.
Physician Networking Project
Problem:
Participants in this project were inexperienced with computers and were making a tough transition to using technology in their daily business. They were having difficulty selecting hardware and software for their new networks. Many were not confident evaluating quotes from vendors and required objective assistance.
Solutions:
APRO Networks assisted the participants by developing some standards, policies and procedures for those who were unfamiliar with running computer systems and related issues. We performed several technical evaluations and on-site reviews to evaluate progress with implementing the new systems. In order to make a smoother transition to using technology, we performed a number of business analyses for those struggling with new work flow issues. Our team further assisted the participants by writing two white papers. The first gave detailed instructions for managing computer assets, and the second provided information on security.
